May 31st, 2011, Early Morning Main Street, Warwick, NY, part of my 30 days in May Series Where I painted in a 3 block area downtown Warwick. I still look back on this series so fondly.
Painted in the studio, fresh picked from the garden last spring during quarantine. I took a long time observing these flowers. So much so that while you paint and observe you can see them turn towards the natural light and the composition changes. My large window faces East in the studio, so the light shifts a bit as well.
7" x 10" oil on gessoed panel. Panel is 1/2" thick, with edges painted black, can go in a floater frame or a traditional frame.
Painted in the studio, all day refining, looking observing. Thank you for looking. These were my grandmothers pearls. The bottles are long loan from my friend June who started collecting blue glass at a young age.
This is somewhat of a family portrait.
30 x 30", Oil on Canvas. Gallery wrapped canvas. Unframed. Family camping in Assateague MD. Filled with light and color, this painting is a summer vacation. Camping in a pop-up is a classic american pastime . Yes, I own this camper and proud of it! I paint what I know. I store my paintings flat inside after it folds up! This is where I stay when I paint the Sea & Sky paintings. Deep Navy blue, sunlight and figures create movement in this piece. The repetition of the Palm trees creating pattern. If you look closely you see my dog and daughter in the shadows.
A Quarrantine painting! Painted in natural light in the studio. I loved playing with the color relationships between the tulips and the aqua green background. Oil on 16 x 20" stretched canvas. Flowers are from Emmerich Greenhouses This painting is an extension of the floral series that I did in 2015
A 2 hour study at the Seligmann in oil on panel 12 x16" Painted November 2020.
