Music Sheet Series

When creating this Umber Watercolor series I work directly from life. Each week in Sugarloaf, NY, I facilitate a group drawing session.  I am most attracted to the way the light falls on the model. The backlit dark shapes, how they connect, and how the light softly turns on the form seduce me.  What attracted me to the vintage music sheet paper was its ethereal quality. Sometimes I play with the lyrics, matching them up with the pose. These drawings usually are done from 20 minutes poses.
