Still Life
This subject is an ongoing series. I am inspired by the way the light catches simple objects in my home. As a painter, working from the still life is fundamental in seeing and composing. I intuitively set up the still life, choosing objects based on color, shape, and physical properties, working only with natural light. After, I realize that the objects symbolically have a duality to them, like the brightness of a lemon and its sourness, knives: danger and function, and the glass that is half empty or half full. This duality always corresponds to a relationship in my family and love itself. I also have a passion for food and cooking. To me, as a mother, this is love.
