The 50th Anniversary Annual Juried Members Exhibition of the Orange County Art Federation awarded Janet Howard-Fatta – Best of Show – for “Guitar Man”, Oil on Board. Federation President and organizer of the show, Sarah McHugh of Warwick, states, “We are very honored this year to have for our judge the esteemed and widely exhibited artist, Jason Gaillard. And “Jason deliberated almost 3 hours to award art works in various media..””

Janet commented on this work ”This painting was done at the Warwick Drawing Group that meets at the Seligmann Center in Sugarloaf. It’s inspiration is the talented Chris Brune, a local music teacher who also draws with the group”. Jason Gaillard commented, “I love that she left the wood. Beautiful whites and darks, reminds me of Bonnard”.

The 50th Anniversary Annual Juried Members Exhibition of the Orange County Art Federation (OCAF) will be on view through Oct. 28, 2012 in Orange Hall Gallery. Orange Hall is located at the corner of Wawayanda & Grandview Avenues, Middletown, NY on the campus of Orange County Community College.

The OCAF is a not-for-profit organization designed to promote art and artists in Orange County. It acts as an umbrella association for many art organizations and several individuals. Recently, the following groups have been members of OCAF: Northeast Watercolor Society, Wallkill River School, Warwick Art League, Goshen Art League, Middletown Art Group, River Valley Artists Guild, Hudson Highlands Photo Workshop, Fine Arts Studios, Creative Collective, Hearts & Hands Center, Artists Alternative, and Barryville Area Artists Association.

Gallery hours are Monday–Thursday 9am – 8pm and Friday, 9am – 6pm. Also, Fridays, October 5 & 12, 9am – 9:30pm; Saturdays, October 6, 4 – 9:30pm, October 13, 7:30 – 9:30pm; October 20, 11am – 9:30pm and Sundays, October 7 & 14, 2:30 – 4:30pm  & October 21, 11am – 5pm.
