Today was my first time painting in the rain and the umbrella would not stand up straight, so that limited me on where I could paint. I used an overhang to keep me dry. I was really excited about painting a rainy scene because it reminds me of Pissaros’ work. I grew up having a painting hanging over the mantle of a rainy European street scene. I love that painting, I could feel the wetness, and imagine splashing in the puddles. I had to have a wet street in the painting.
The biggest challenge yesterday was dealing with the delicious aromas wafting out of the local cafes making my stomach rumble.
Afterwards, I was ready for a hot tea and shower.
