Yesterday I went back to once again paint the light on the trees and the shops in the distance. Unfourtunately on the bridge it was hard for me to back away from my painting. The intensity of the light at 1PM is perceptually a challenge. The shimmer on the water, the illumination of the greens.
I met Matthew Mallaly of Hilton Head, twin brother of Tim and art school grad. I enjoyed his conversation and I asked him to take a photo of me painting.
So I am squinting, looking at the masters, painting, studying the masters some more, painting, and writing. I tell myself to look for beauty. Compose. Make music. Create illusion, magic…that draws us in and brings our insides out.
