Painted in the studio, from a plein-air sketch. I am a huge fan of Edward Hopper's work. The abandonment, loneliness that this building portrays haunts me. This paining is about that. American loss. The painting has a very matte finish to it.
A small stream that I have painted numerous times. This little stream in leads into the pond that is behind my house on the Audubon property that is adjacent to my property. I love the color of snow in the shadows and the stream turned into a path.
