Description
“Take 1- Drawing with Paint” , was painted after I reached my goal of 50 paintings. The title is derived from a description of how it was painted. I often start with a very simple sketch with oil paint. a few lines in most likely burnt sienna. This painting was begun with color shapes and lines. I feel like the painting has more movement and information in this manner and that I am able to push the paint around more freely- as well as the feeling that everything is more connected from the start. I realized this when I reviewed the 50 paintings that some looked a little different – and it was in the start!
This floral still life painting is 9″ x 9″, oil on gessoed paper mounted on board.
This painting is framed in a natural maple floater frame. The inside of the frame, and the edge of the panel are painted black to give the illusion of floating.
